About Anaouat
The Anaouat Foundation for Rights and Development is a regional, non-governmental, non-profit organization based in Chichaoua, in the Marrakech-Safi region. Established in 2010 as part of a pilot project entitled “Community Scorecard for Evaluating Basic Services,” carried out in partnership with the INDH and the World Bank, the Foundation has since been working to improve the living conditions of vulnerable populations.
The Foundation primarily operates in the fields of human rights, civil rights, and political participation, as well as in training and education. Its work focuses on combating gender-based violence, promoting gender equality, and supporting women’s economic empowerment and youth employment.
Through its programs, Anaouat also implements prevention and response initiatives to address violence at the local, regional, and national levels. Its activities are particularly aimed at women, young people and survivors of violence, offering them opportunities for education, training, and integration into the labor market.
The Foundation is also engaged in advocacy efforts to influence laws, procedures, and social norms, with the goal of fostering the inclusion of vulnerable groups—particularly in rural areas—and promoting a life of dignity for all.
